Politically, Ross Perot Sr. doesn’t get the credit he deserves

It’s hard to believe it’s been 30 years since Perot burst on the national political scene in his historic 1992 presidential campaign.

In the political arena, Perot doesn’t get the credit he earned.

“For a non-politician, Senior was a most gifted politician,” biographer Dave Lieber writes.

He created a third political party in a nation that believes that can’t be done because of longstanding two-party dominance.

He brought economic issues to the forefront by getting Americans to focus along with him.

He was the first billionaire to use his money to try to defeat America’s two-party dominance, and certainly not the last.

He communicated in a straightforward manner along with his sharp wit. He wasn’t a candidate who used focus groups to tell him what to say. He knew in his heart.

In life, he served as a role model who demonstrated how to give and help others because that’s what really matters. That, the author says, is his most important character trait. His competitiveness and his creativity also set him apart from other business giants.
